Welcome to the Hindu Temple & Cultural Centre, serving devotional, spiritual, cultural and social needs of people in Canberra.

The Hindu Temple and Cultural Centre (HTCC) is located at 81, Ratcliffe Crescent, Florey Canberra and it is the one of the first temples to be built in Nations Capital. This temple helps to promote and flourish the richness of the Hindu religion, culture, and philosophy.

AGM on Sunday 22 September 2019 - Starting 12.30pm

The AGM for the financial year 2018-19 will be held at the Temple on Sun 22 Sept 2019, starting 12.30pm. If the quorum is not met by 12.30pm then we will wait till 1pm and the members present at that time will be considered as forming the quorum for the meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting but only financial members will have a voting right.

The AGM will discuss the annual report, audited accounts, and elect a committee for 2019-20.

Dr Krishna Nadiampalli has kindly agreed to be the Returning Officer. Further details regarding the elections will be sent out by him shortly.

Please note the change in the time as the earlier time clashed with an event at the Temple.

Message from Returning Officer for Executive Committee Election 2019

Elections for the next executive committee will be held during the annual general meeting of the Hindu Temple and Cultural Centre (HTCC) of the ACT Inc. The AGM is being held on Sunday 22nd September, 2019 at 12.30 pm.

Nominations are invited for all the positions of the HTCC Executive Committee for the year 2019-2020 as follows:

President, Two Vice-Presidents, Secretary, Assistant Secretary, Treasurer, Temple Manager, Public Officer & up to seven committee members (including up to three ex-officio members).

Please note that only current financial members as on 31st May 2019 can participate in election process and all the nominees, proposers & those who second the nomination must be financial members of the HTCC on 31 May 2019.

You can also obtain a copy of nomination form by sending an email to me.

The completed nomination forms duly signed in original by the candidate, proposed and seconded by current financial members must reach to me by 9:00 pm Friday 13th September 2019 at my address (1 Inkerman Street, Amaroo, ACT). Alternatively, I will be available to receive nominations at the temple on 13th September 2019 between 6-7 pm.

Late nominations will not be accepted.

Last date for withdrawal of nomination is by 6:00 pm Sunday 15 September 2019

Shanti Niketan update

The work is progressing well and on schedule. We have till now spent approximately $242k. The estimated cost around $1M. Various funding option as approved in last AGM are being pursued. All donations are welcome.


Ganapati Puja - Monday 2nd September

Shanti Niketan is a Work Site

The temple premises is now part of Shanti Niketan construction site, so please do take care when you visit the temple and do not enter the construction area. Construction will resume after the regular break.

Please also note that Yoga is continuing in HTCC. Shri Vijay Arora is back from holidays and is taking classes on Saturdays from 08:00am to 09:30am. New beginners are most welcome to take this opportunity of starting yoga and discuss your needs with the Yoga teacher.
