Events & Updates

Hindu Temple & Cultural Centre of the ACT is an organisation whose members are dedicated to the provision of an understanding of the teachings, philosophy and culture of Hindu religion.
A few decades ago, an idea was conceived to bring together the Hindu community, preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Sanatana Dharma, with that pious thought an idea of building a Hindu temple in Canberra evolved.
Through their dedicated efforts and endeavours the Hindu Temple & Cultural Centre (HTCC) was formed in 1987. The association was formally incorporated in April 1988. In the subsequent years, the association has been attracted large membership.
We strive to perform such tasks as may be necessary and conducive to the moral, spiritual, and cultural upliftment of the mankind.
It encourages and promotes constructive ideas and suggestions from the HTCC members and devotees in general.
Providing a spiritual environment for the seekers of truth and purity, humility and courage, forgiveness, tolerance and compassion, universal brotherhood and love for all living beings.
Shanti Niketan.
The HTCC runs a number of projects related to infrastructure, education, physical and mental health, aged ca re and community services. With increasing Indian community, a bigger facility was desperately required for HTCC programs and activities. As a result, Shanti Niketan was built, completed and being used for major events. It is available for community use on hire basis.
